Learn the basics of getting around town on the bus.Using the Trip Planner
1. Enter where you are & where you're going into the Trip Planner!
2. If it doesn't understand your inputs you will see "Found multiple results, select." Click this box and you will see a drop down box, select a location from the listed choices.
3. Once your locations are found, click Search & then click Show Selected Trip Options.
4. Pick the trip option that best fits your schedule!
5. Click Return Connection in the top right corner for return trip options.

How to Read a Bus Schedule
1. Check the bus route number on the bus schedule to make sure you have the right bus!
2. Major bus stops are listed in the order the bus arrives at them. From the bus stops listed, find the stop closest to you & pick which one you want to ride to.
3. Find the time you need to arrive at your destination by and determine when you need to catch the bus to get there on time by looking across the chart.

Taking the Bus
1. When waiting for the bus, flag the bus driver to make sure they know you want their bus and not a different one.
2. Insert your money into the box at the front of the bus to get your fare ticket. If you need to transfer to another bus in the same bus system (ex. Triangle Transit to Triangle Transit) ask the bus driver for a transfer ticket when you pay your fare.
Remember: The bus driver cannot give you change back so bring exact change!
3. When you want to get off the bus, pull the cord along the window or press the strip above your head. If you are unsure where your stop is, tell the bus driver where you want to go and they should help.

The R-Line is a FREE downtown circulator. Hybrid-electric buses will take you around downtown, to restaurants, shops, bars and other entertainment. Plus, buses run every 10-15 minutes so you won't have to wait long!Check it out on Google Maps.

Triangle Transit can take you all the way to Durham or Chapel Hill! Just catch a bus at Moore Square Transit Station to ride on Triangle Transit.

Tips & Tricks
Find out how to make your bus ride even better!Health & Sciences Campus Shuttle
A free shuttle is
provided for students taking classes on the Health & Sciences Campus.
The shuttle leaves from the Adult Education Center at 1920 Capital Blvd.
Park and Ride Lots
Don't want to pay for a parking pass? Just park your car at one of these Park and Ride lots and catch the bus to campus!
Bikes on Buses
There are 2 bike racks on all CAT & Triangle Transit buses!
Ride to & from RDU Airport
Catch CAT 40E from campus and take it to Moore Square Transit Station. From here, take Triangle Transit 105 bus to the Regional Transit Center. Then transfer to the Triangle Transit 100 RDU Shuttle. This shuttle bus will take you to both Terminal 1 & Terminal 2.
